Why is it ok for Blacks to openly support Obama because he's black but Whites would be racist for voicing Whit

Time and again I hear in the media Blacks rooting for Obama because He's Black. Where are the white people who are voting for Clinton only for the fact that she's white. I know they are out there but i sense an INEQUALITY in that whites can't openly come out and they are going to vote "White" or they will be called racist! Where are the "white leaders". Can only Obama supporters play the race card and get a free pass?

Why is it ok for Blacks to openly support Obama because he's black but Whites would be racist for voicing Whit
First, I don't know if I would believe every media outlet I run across. Anyone can vote for anyone they choose and don't have to give a reason. Why are you not asking "Why is it ok for women to vote for Hillary because she's a woman but men would be considered bigots for voting for a man because he is a man." As far as why whites can't come out and say they are openly voting for a candidate because they are white, well that's some of the results of 400+ years or racism and oppression. That's America's dirty secret and no one wants to be seen as a racist, although it may be a different story when they get home.
Reply:My answer to that is this: ANYONE black or white who votes for someone based on their skin color is a racist. This includes those blacks voting for Obama because he's black.
Reply:Double standards. Plus those people shouldn't even be allowed near a voting booth. If they vote for someone on the basis of their gender or their name then they shouldn't vote.

I'm not supporting any of the front-runners now because of their issues not because one is black or one has a terrible laugh.
Reply:Why else would any white person have voted for Bush, who has been an absolute trainwreck?
Reply:you will be called racist for this question.
Reply:Feminists love Hillary too. A key constituent.
Reply:Kinda seems that way, eh? Blacks used to scream

"racists" because the basketball teams were mainly

White. Now, they've taken over and there is only a

token of White people on the College and Pro teams.

Do we holler "racists" because of that? I don't ever

hear it. Funny how things change/.
Reply:They are NOT supporting him because he's black. They like his campaign. It is wrong to vote on the basis of color, period. And Obama is half black and half white for your information.
Reply:Everyone Knows that racism and sexism are wrong. But apparently only when commited by white males. The long history in this country of the dominance of White Anglo-Saxon Males has led to a great deal of bitterness from the groups that were oppressed in past generations. That bitterness has expressed itself as open racism and sexism against white males in the post civil rights era. White males have become the most hated ethnic group in the country. Don't get me wrong, I think judging anyone based on race or gender is wrong, but I think it is wrong for everyone regardless of what race or gender they happen to be.
Reply:leftists are like that -- it is ok for us to denigrate you but you can't denigrate us
Reply:I like obama, not because of his race but because of his ideas. Anyone who votes for him just because of his race is helping me get the guy I want into office, but they will be dissappointed when they don't get everything they want.

It's like country people voting for Bush because he "talks like them" that's not a good reason to vote for a person either.
Reply:I'm not sure what Country you live in But here in the United States we have nothing that resembles what you are suggesting.

Come and visit see for yourself. Then go home and tell your fellow Countrymen we are not all Clones of Politicians We are Free.
Reply:Because we all let that kind of double standard go. The white community has a very large guilty conscience. And, because America is mostly white, America has the same issue which is why the minorities are taking over.
Reply:Well if what you were saying were true, which I'm not so sure it is, it isn't necessarily the same. White people could also vote for him because he's black (but again, I doubt too many people are voting for him solely for that reason). It wouldn't necessarily be partiality towards one's own race; it could also be that they feel that it would be a good idea to have a more diverse notion of president, one that includes people who aren't white Christian Anglo-Saxons.

If someone votes for any other candidate just because he/she is white, then it's just about keeping a black person out of office, which IS racist; if you don't care what he has to say and only care about how the color of his skin doesn't fit your notion of who can be president, that's wrong.
Reply:No, see that the difference. I don't go around my life thinking in terms of black and white, but it is apparent that there are those who do so to a bigger extent.
Reply:Political correctness
Reply:I would like to see where you receive your information from stating that blacks are voting for Obama just because he's black. I'm pretty sure that there are a bunch of black people that are voting for Obama for what he believes in. I have of other ethnic groups and who they were voting for as well. Such as the hispanics and women are voting Hillary whereas, the blacks and white men population is voting for Obama. Get your facts right.
Reply:Considering the fact that more "blacks" supported John Kerry in 2004 than Barrack Obama, I find your point moot. Or do facts not enter into your assertion? (oops)

Your assertion also suggests that "blacks" mistook Bill Clinton's ethnicity as well.
Reply:Well if you lived in a country where no one of your race was ever on the ticket for 200 years and you have only had the right to vote for 40 years and suddenly one of your race appeared on the ballot, would you not vote for them? I saw an African-American woman before the debate tonight that was a delegate for Hillary and there was a caucasian male that was a delegate for Obama. What about all of the caucasians getting on Obama's band wagon, even republicans, they are not voting for him just because he's black, they are voting for him because he makes the most sense. If either McCain or Obama win, the country will be in a hellova lot better shape than we have been the last 7 years.
Reply:Interesting question and I totally agree! I think blacks have been getting away A LOT with using the race card and feel as though they use it a an excuse for many thing that happen in their lives or around the country.
