every child born today in in debt more than they could make in their lifetime,, because of the Bush mismanaging of the US government,,, the war in Afghanistan,, and his Iraq war as well,,, do average Republicans even understand this fact,, or are they condoning,, running this country,, using a credit card,, with the bill ,,, and the interest,, billions per day,, coming due, from their grandchildren,,,,, payable to China?
Do Republicans support the fact that Bush turned Clinton's 5.4 Trillion Surplus into a Deficit for future?
they love debt because they sell bonds to pay off the debt and get richer
Reply:Of course they do.. Bush could polish a terd in their eyes...
Reply:5.4 trillion? I hope you don't think that is in US dollars.
Clinton ran up the US debt by 2 trillion dollars, just like every other two term president has done. Then, he raised taxes before he left office so he could claim to have reduced the debt by 200 million dollars. That's far from 5.4 trillion.
In 1996, he signed a law that made it mandatory for the social security administration to reduce people's monthly paychecks if they owed any back taxes, alimony, government student loans, and any other type of loan made by the federal government. Retirees who owe those kinds of debts have to receive at least 9,000 dollars a year and the social security administration takes the rest of their money and pays off their federal debts, if they have any. And that's where his 200 million dollar reduction of the federal debt comes from.
Why isn't he bragging about that law?
Reply:The surplus was created the same way Enron created their reserves.
Reply:there was no surplus
Reply:not sure where you got your information from because since world war 2 the united states has not had a surplus and definetely not a 5 trillion dollar one. And the fact clinton cut the debt was not really impressive considering what he did. he closed over half the military bases in the united states and cut spending on defense so there was more money then before for sure. and while to the average person it may seem stupid to have a debt and keep borrowing money, i have a degree in economics and there is nothing wrong with the debt. the debt is not really what we owe people in back payments. its saying if everyone in the world cashed in their us savings bonds and war bonds, we would be that much in debt. the truth is we have money to spend.
Reply:Clintons "SURPLUS"...OOPS you forgot the same thing he did...the Social Securities IOU's he dished out...that are payable in 2032...OOPS..Gw is and has started paying these back so that the SS funding WILL SURVIVE..

they talk of his accounting SPIN for a SURPLUS that is as honest as I DID NOT HAVE SEX WITH THAT WOMAN...
And as good as Al Gopre and conservation at 16,000 electric bill per month..thats a savings....
Reply:Clinton never had a budget surplus, but thanks for playing.

Reply:$5.4 trillion? You do need to do a little research. I hate to tell you, but Billy did NOTHING to lower the spending in Congress. Congress is primarily to blame, and always will be. They are a largely a pathetic bunch of snake salesman who are consistently mortgaging our future for the "entitlement society."
We are going to pay a very dear price for their fiscal irresponsibility. Always too little too late. They put out fires that they start themselves.
Blame the impending downfall on a Congress that could never and will never control themselves. The American people lack the knowledge, resolve, and the will to do the right thing.
Just wait until Hillary gets her universal healthcare debacle rolling. Another nail in the coffin of fiscal responsibility.
Reply:How did he achieve that "surplus"? Didn't he raise taxes more than any president since WWII? Didn't he drastically cut funding to your beloved social programs?
Did the natural disasters, such as katrina, have an influence? Did 9/11 have an influence?
Or are you just being a selfish hypocrite, who only cares about trying to make a democrat look good, and a republican look bad, ignoring everything else?
Reply:does that not make you feel real sick.?
Reply:It's like buying a house that's a handyman special. You might have to borrow money to fix the mess left by the previous owners, who happened to be a fraternity that partied all the time instead of cleaning the gutters.
Reply:Do democrats understand that their leaders support energy conservation, yet drive huge expensive SUVs and fly private jets to their 7,000 sq ft homes with heated pools....
Reply:First of all that was only a projected surplus. Second, it's only a deficit due to spending. Give Bush all the tax cuts he wants and we will not have a deficit. It works every time.
Reply:Actually the 3 main reasons which caused the deficit...Bush's tax cuts (that was a good idea for economic growth) and the events of 9-11 and the wars...It would have been any President in office, so please don't pin it only on Bush. And the fact that our nation has only been in Surplus a handful of times since the 1920's...don't act like a surplus is a common thing.
Reply:yes yes we do support it. :)
Reply:Clinton had no surplus. Don't make up stories.
