As a latino voter, why would I vote for Obama instead of Clinton?

Fortunately, Hillary had a good win in Texas, she specially won the Rio Grande Valley area in South Texas where I'm from.

Both candidates came to Edinburg, TX to the University of Texas Pan American. Obama additionally gave a speech in Brownsville, TX and Hillary gave a speech in Hidalgo, TX.

But there was no way Obama could possibly win in this latino community.

Hillary is bilingual! On her visits, Hillary was asked questions by local people in SPANISH, and she responded in SPANISH. After she left, her daughter Chelsea stuck by and campaigned a few more days in this area.

Obama gave his speeches, and answered questions in English. He read some phrases off some cards in Spanish, but that didn't impress anyone!

How are we Latinos expected to believe he cares about our affairs and issues if he doesn't even speak our language?

Why would any latino vote for Obama?

As a latino voter, why would I vote for Obama instead of Clinton?
I'm a latino and I voted for Hillary in TX. My mother does not speak English and she also voted for Hillary. My mother watches the Spanish cable chanels and she said that she didn't even know who Obama was until a couple of weeks ago. Some of the Span. newscasters said that Obama continued to refuse interviews with the latino stations. So how were the Spanish speakers supposed to learn anything about him. Hillary did several interviews in Spanish as well as radio. She's not afraid of the latinos. Obama on the other hand solely relied on the African American voters to put him over the edge and neglected the Latinos. So Latinos in upcoming elections, think twice before voting for Obama. He's not looking out for us.

VOTE FOR HILLARY CLINTON!!!!
Reply:I once saw a picture of him eating a burrito, so don't give up hope.
Reply:I can see how Obama might appeal to some Latino youth, but if you look into the subject at all, Hillary is the best candidate for us.
Reply:vote clinton shes got it all

obama is promising change but where is it?;

its getting real old.
Reply:VOTE HILLARY!

YOU GO GIRL!

“As I think about the challenges facing the nation and having been in uniform for almost thirty years, worked with a number of presidents to include the last four, I can’t think of a single person – those generals included – who is better qualified to walk into the Oval Office than Hillary Clinton. I don’t make that statement very lightly. She is more qualified, in my view, than her husband Bill was when he entered the office. It is no surprise to me that you would have as many flag officers who serve this country and Secretaries of the Army and Navy who have served this country who would come out and support Hillary.”

Reply:Well, first of all I do want to say you should vote issues over anything else.

However, we all know better.

Finding a candidate who does care about minorities is important. Finding a candidate who understands the particular characteristics of your minority connects you to that candidate. Hillary is impressive because she took the time to become educated in a language that is quickly growing to be almost essential in America. She has experience and doesn't want to just block immigrants from coming into the US...ie, many of our families stuck in third world hell.

I'm not saying Obama doesn't care but he's so stuck in the black/white/muslim rut trying to explain himself out of the negative light that its really hard for him to appeal to the Latin community.

But, in any case, if a Latin person does vote Obama, I could see why. If his or her heart ran with Obama's particular slant on politics, then that's what he or she should vote for.

However, I stick with Hillary personally as a Latina:)
Reply:No offense here, but alot of the population are latinos and hmongs, so with a president that can't speak 1 of the languages of one of a race that has grown largely in the past few years is completly stupid. That's why Clinton wants and NEEDS to be in the oval office
Reply:Do you know that Hillary is more conservative than Obama, and will probably pass stricter regulations on immigration?
Reply:if you are basing your vote on the fact that Hillary answered questions in Spanish, you are really dumb and should not vote at all, you have to look at the issues and ask yourself who is better equipped to deal with the problems, no who speaks Spanish.
Reply:Clinton has the illegal alien vote all locked up by campaigning in a foreign language while Obama has the terrorist vote by disrespecting our national anthem.
Reply:vote clinton then !
Reply:If you are a United States citizen, then our language that we speak is and will always be English. My fathers parents came from Norway and never once did I here my grandparents speak there native language, they learned English and spoke it daily until there deaths. Obama was raised in the U.S.A. and his native language is English, so he needs not to speak any other.
Reply:If you want a candidate who speaks Spanish go to Spain or Latin America. Here in the United States , where Obama is campaigning the language is English.

If you live here you ought to learn the language regardless of what country and or culture you come from. That is the most basic of respect. You don't see Americans inPortugal ansking why those candidates don't speak English.

GIVE ME ABREAK!!
Reply:Your racial ethnic should be of no importance in a presidential election. You should vote based on their views of the future and what you believe is best for the country. It's a democracy, you dont have to vote/not vote for someone because you are latino.
Reply:If he were a true UNITER he would have had someone that could speak spanish there.

He is not a uniter. People will still complain that someone gets special treatment because of their race, poor people will complain about the people that have good jobs. Big corporations will still be judged. Democrats will still call republicans bad names. He pits people against each other in his campaign all the time.
Reply:Obama is trying to hard, he looks kinda desperate to win putting all this ads everywhere, persuing Latinos with his "I like tacos" and speaking spanish... Clinton is more calmed about the situation... you decide, if you know what I mean.
Reply:Darn good point! That shows that she is for all Americans, not just the Anglos! I have no idea of why any one would vote for this man, but especially why would any Latino! He probably knows nothing about what countries you could be from either! Why he even chose to visit your mostly Latino college with out being prepared is a mystery to me!
Reply:You did not vote for him because he did not speak your language damn that's harsh considering that the main language in classes across the US is English. I wonder if other people who speck English feel that same way about others that don't speck English ( no ) that's why we have 1 for English and 2 for Spanish on information calls and if you go to any Federal building it has sign that say if you need a translator please ask.
Reply:Because knowing Spanish and being a good leader have nothing to do with each other. On the issues, Obama and Clinton hold VERY similar positions. I'm for Obama because he overall is more charismatic and seems to be a natural leader.
Reply:As a Latino,,,, I would be asking myself what in the hell has

the democratic party ever done for the Latin community in

the US,,, Do you understand that if your working in this

country and making a wage, you have 85 percent chance

of working for a republican or conservative,, We pay the

wages , we take the risk, and we keep American moving.

The democrats want to take whatever we do and get more

of it to give away,,, that is there scope, that is there premise.

When you lose your job,,, go ask a damn democrat for work..

They will tell you to find a Republican,, Dems don't hire

anyone they just give things away,,,, Its in there blood.
Reply:I don't think "Latinos" or any other group should or will vote as one unit. Each citizen of the country must make their own decision based on the issues facing this nation and which candidate they feel will do the best job of solving the many problems that they'll inherit from the current crew. It's not whether or not someone speaks Spanish but whether or not he or she will help America come together, rebuild our democracy, restore civil rights and our Constitution. Educate yourself on the isses, the individual platforms and make your decision yourself.
Reply:It is your responsibility to learn his language, if you are to progress in the U.S. the largest part of people speak English if he was to cater to your language or other ethnic minorities he would have to learn hundreds of languages holding him or any other candidate to that standard would be ludicrous
Reply:Who cares what your race is? Vote for the issues.
Reply:From the latino point of view, they're better off voting for Hillary, but not because she speaks Spanish and Obama doesn't.
Reply:Exactly. Go Hillary!! IN IT TO WIN IT, BABY!! :)
Reply:To me it does not matter if you are a Latino or not because we all want the best person to win the election. To me the best person would be Hillary. I have been able to hear both of the candidates talk and Obama cannot think on his feet and this to me says that he is not speaking from his heart but by the format set up for him by his political machine. I want an independent thinker to have the office and Obama is not the one~!
Reply:you shouldn't vote for someone because of what race they are or what language they speak... you vote for the issues that they discuss that would help you out and your familys i mean you might have someone who can speak spanish, but if they are talking about issues that you don't even care about then what good are they going to be to you???? see so look them both up and find out because they both are very different..
Reply:Obama likes pandering to different communities. Before the Texas primaries came up, he didn't care about the Hispanic community. As soon as he needed the vote, he acted like he cared.

He does this with a lot of different people. Hillary, on the other hand, has continuously fought for everyone's rights and is sincere and warm. I voted for her in Ohio and helped bring her victory yesterday. :)
Reply:He is young, black and a good speaker (if you can get by the arrogance). Other than that, he hasn't really accomplished anything other than running for office. To me, there is no reason to vote for him. I supported him in the beginning because he has charisma, but I have since found him insincere and noticed that he never really says anything.
Reply:I agree! The issues are more important than who knows Spanish and who doesn't.
Reply:This is the most dumbest reason to vote for Hillary. Latino people are racist against blacks that is the reason why they prefer Hillary.
