During the last 30 years, what is the accomplishment liberals are most proud of?

[ ] Imposing regulations for construction of new refineries making it impossible to build one which has resulted in gas being $3/gallon.





[ ] Clinton's 3 card monty with the budget, massive tax increases, and rape of social programs to just create a "surplus" with our own money.





[ ] Jimmy Carter's complete ineptitude as a "President".

During the last 30 years, what is the accomplishment liberals are most proud of?
Clinton's bi-partisan passage of the "Welfare Reform Act", not that it actually changed much, but it was a step in the right direction.





I know, it was a conservative idea, but he signed it.

Reply:I have pride in a number of accomplishments both of Carter and Clinton. You won't be able to understand them, because what is important to me as a liberal is not the same as what is important to you as a conservative.





I'm very proud of the greatest period of economic growth without a state of war in the history of the United States. 2 terms buddy. No other president in history can claim as long a Clinton did without a recession. And the recession only came as people started to realize he was leaving office. Can you honestly say that you were better off in 1992 than you were in 1999?





I'm proud of the nearly 6 million new jobs that were created under this period of growth. Jobs in clean, growth industries like high technology, biotechnology, and health care.





I'm proud of the fact that entire world didn't hate us during Clinton's term. The fact that we, as a nation, didn't discount what the rest of the world thought of us, and that we worked cooperatively to advance the health and economy of the rest of the world without respect to political ideology. The fact that we never felt it necessary to rename a side dish because another country had the temerity to disagree with us on an issue.





I'm proud of the fact that some small measures were made to control the free flow of guns in our country. That a madman could finally not walk into a gun store and walk out the same day with an assault rifle. That someone would be asked to take a look at whether or not this person should have such a weapon. I'm also proud of the fact that weapons that have no purpose but to kill lots of people at the same time were banned under his watch.





I'm proud of the fact that both of those presidents fought the passage of frivolous Constitutional Amendments to restrict or take away rights rather than secure rights. I'm also proud that both presidents fought against the unnecessary expansion of presidential power that the "line-item veto" would have created.





I'm proud of the fact that they selected Supreme Court justices that were committed to protecting the privacy of the individual and rights for women's self-determination.





I'm also proud of the fact that the liberal presidents were not tools of the oil company and did not drag us into an unnecessary war using lies about "weapons of mass destruction". Yes, I know, Clinton got a ******** in the White House -- but 2500 soldiers are not dead because of that lie, can you say the same about the "red cake from Niger"?
Reply:Since they're in denial about all of those things, I'd say it's the fact that Hillary was somehow elected to the Senate, and some actually believe she has a shot at the Oval Office.
