Why H.Clinton always mention in her speeches how she met a woman who was born before women allown to vote?

Is she want to use thee sexism card to appeal to the women voters . Is she forgot there was a time that a black man would also not allowed to vote? Can anyone tell her that we are now in the 21th century?

Why H.Clinton always mention in her speeches how she met a woman who was born before women allown to vote?
It isn't just about appealing to women -- the story clicks with blue collar-working men as well. Hillary knows her strongest support is with working-class Democrats and women, and that's why she emphasises it.
Reply:Yes Black people were allowed to vote prior to female, but being allowed to vote and having someplace to vote were two different things. Black people weren't allowed to vote in the white voting machines and were supplied none of their own.. Is that the right to vote or just the appearance of the right to vote?

This gender racial thing is getting ridiculous.. Lets do issues and leave the Hillary whines and excuses to the Hillary camp.. Personally I'm tired of hearing the whines and phony excuses as to why she is losing.
Reply:women in the u.s. did not obtain the right to vote till 1920 with the passage of the 19th amendment to the Constitution. so she would be alluding to any woman she met who was a us citizen 88 years of age and up. she is making the point --to women, i think--that it took a long time to gain the right to vote, and for the first time in us history they have the opportunity to vote for a woman for us president. an appeal for a vote based on her gender, most likely. while i am a supporter of senator obama in the upcoming democrat primary and, i hope, presidential election, senator clinton is a fine candidate who makes her appeal on a wide range of issues and is undoubtedly well aware that the human calender indicates the 21st century. too bad all people and civilisation do not occupy it in evolutionary terms.
Reply:I agree. She is counting on the female vote to tip the scales in her direction. She is attempting to point out what a privilege it is to vote and get the gals out there to vote for her.

I'm female and I had grandparents who were born before women could vote...but I was responsible with my privilege...I voted against her.

I've said all along that I don't believe race will help Obama much and Kentucky proves it...deep South with many who hate blacks. I expect she wouldn't have won that state as a black female.

She didn't win that state on merit...how could she when she has no merit.

Hillary will put herself into any time warp that will help her whether or not she believes in what she is saying.

She's in this for herself...time to wake up!
Reply:Hillary is giving credit to those that forged a path so women may be included in the voting process. Some people don't realize the sacrifices it took to have this right. Obama also mentions former Blacks who gave of themselves so he has the good fortune of being a candidate in these times. As an adult we all have to give credit and teach our young not to ever take for granted what some have died for. We all benefit from her words. Think what it w/b like if women didnt have the right to vote, or minorities were still treated unfairly. Anyway, enjoy the politics.. I love this !!
Reply:How soon they forget! She needs to make speeches, she needs to make interesting points to create some emotional investment in her candidacy. I am not a supporter but I think this is a fair rhetorical point for her to make. Like her or not, hers is a historic candidacy. A woman has never been such a leading candidate for the presidency.
Reply:You think your vote counts? think again it's a fix computerised or not. So called different politicians are different horses from the same stable! They play out a theatrical game in front of the public to hoodwink us into believing that we have a choice and that our vote actually counts! This is brainwashing! Lets wake up!!! Don't listen to what the mainstream media tell you, because its all lies! Don't believe me? do your own research and go to you tube and type in CLINTON CURTIS computer voting machine and you will see the inventor of the voting machines under oath swearing in court that the machines have been programmed to fix the voting. Clinton has already been chosen.
Reply:You are probably too young and uninformed to know this, but the ERA (equal rights amendment) was never passed in this nation. It was an amendment that declared women to be equal to men and made illegal any type of discrimination against women. Women and gays are the only population in this country who do not officially have the same rights as everybody else.
Reply:The Wiz -not enitlrty true.

African america wouldn't of had there "vote count" would have to pay taxes" would get beat the crap out of just going to the polls.

Majoirty of African america didn't vote for this reason.
Reply:It's so sad that two groups, women being larger than Blacks with the ambition of the presidency of the United States of America. Competing to the point to being pitted against each other. I am looking for a period of healing because regardless of who wins we'll need both groups reunited.
Reply:So Obama can use race but Hillary can't use sexism?

Double standard again

steal Hillary's thunder again

piss off women again

Does this dummy ever learn?

Obama will be the maker of his own demise
Reply:Consider this: We have only had the right to vote for 80 plus years. Black men obtained the right to vote half a century earlier.
Reply:Is she want to use thee sexism card?

Holy, holy hell. Please tell me you aren't a voting citizen.

It's 21st, by the way.
Reply:Because there are no men alive today that lived when it was illegal for them to vote.
Reply:Yeah, but the black man was allowed to vote 50 years BEFORE any woman was allowed!
Reply:Because it's relevant.
Reply:Desperation...she knows she cannot mathematically win the Democratic nomination.

Perhaps she's rallying to go Independent?
Reply:She must meet a lot of women about 100 years old; or is she having flash backs to the snipers?
Reply:She's crazy. She has the old black women in her ads on TV, she.........she's a mess!!!
Reply:She has run out of Ideas
Reply:I agree, only so many of her stories are LIES.
