Why did Hillary Clinton play the race card in her speech on Monday?

Because she's a liberal and that's what liberals do.

Why did Hillary Clinton play the race card in her speech on Monday?
Because she has nothing positive to say about herself so she complains about others.
Reply:to make sure that no more of the african american vote moves towards conservatism like in the '04 election. The shift of 8 or 9% of the African American vote helped to push Mr. Bush into the white house.
Reply:Because when liberals are losing or cant debate something on its own merit they bring up the race card. Its a tatic that is getting really old.
Reply:She said something about white people?
Reply:To be precise, she vaguely used the race card. A plantation's meaning can mean many things including race.

And race was her intended meaning.

she's gearing up for her 08 presidential run. she's trying to appeal to the voters of her audience.

Newt Gingrich used the exact same analogy in 1996 when the Dems controlled Congress.
Reply:Well, she IS a moron.
Reply:She is positioning herself for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States and is needing the Black vote to achieve that goal. Her stance now will make other people remember her or at least think about who she is at that time.

Typically, Democratic candidates are more on Domestic Policy that is for the benefit of all people, whereas Republican candidates are more on Foreign Policy for the benefit of the nation as a whole. This example (the lack of response creating undue hardships for the people in New Orleans) is considered a Domestic issue, and as she is a Democratic Senator, she is considered "outspoken" on that point. If this was an issue that related to foreign policies, her opinions would not be nearly as important or publisized.
